Networks Made Easy

As part of our ongoing commitment to provide our members with the latest available technological resources, the Utah Telehealth Network provides access to low-cost bandwidth and technical support. By pooling our resources, most technical support, security, and information privacy is performed by UTN, the UUHSC network and security teams. This service affords most sites considerable savings in IT costs. Some site members however, require a greater degree of control over their network and for them we offer this page with detailed information on our network and connections.

Network Administration Tools for UTN Techs

The following tools are only useable when logged into a Secure Application Manager.

Security Reports:

Remote Email/Network Access:

  • Remote Access - a web-based email and network access system.
  • Neoteris Accounts - a SSL virtual private network that secures internet transactions. It is an important plugin to have when accessing PHI from outside the network. Contact 1-801-585-2426 to apply.

Network Monitoring and Status:

  • Inmon - a tool used to find the current condition of each UTN member site. It monitors IP and MAC addresses. (Requires a Neoteris account. Contact 1-801-585-2426 for information.)
  • WANAlerts - an interactive device that pages or emails you when an IP device in your network becomes inaccessible. It currently monitors all UTN member sites' routers, switches, and firewalls. Every tech should sign up for this. (Requires a Neoteris account. Contact 1-801-585-2426 for information.)
Network Performance:
  • RouterPM - Reports the line utilization of each UTN member site. It is fully customizable and produces wonderful graphs. It is fully customizable and produces wonderful graphs. (Requires a Neoteris account. Contact 1-801-585-2426 for information.)
  • Netscreen Security Manager - Manages all UTN Netscreen firewalls. Use it to configure your firewall or generate traffic reports. (It requires a NSM client. Please contact 1-801-585-2426 for more information.)

Network Troubleshooting:

  • Intrusion, Detection, & Prevention (IDP) - a customizable security system that detects and prevents security charts. It analyzes all traffic for registered viruses, worms, Gator, spyware, and known troublespots. It requires a client. (Requires a Neoteris account. Contact 1-801-585-2426 for information.)
