Telemedicine Staff

Marta Petersen, M.D., Director, provides overall direction for the program; serves as the Utah Telehealth's Network medical director and clinical champion at the University. Dr. Petersen also conducts telehealth clinics in dermatology and cancer screening.

Deb LaMarche, Program Manager, oversees the day-to-day operation of the network and serves as business manager. In addition, she is focused on strategic planning and the development of new services and sites for the Utah Telehealth Network.

Pat Bryner, Network Operations Coordinator, conducts the day-to-day operation of the network. She manages the bridge and scheduling. She is the first point of contact for reporting technical problems.

Richard Evans, Senior Software Engineer, leads the development of the UTN database and videoconferencing scheduling system. He is responsible for designing the workflow and funcitons of a data storage and retrieval system.

Joanne Rees, Account Specialist, is responsible for providing administrative and accounting support to the Telehealth program.

Jeff Shuckra, MA, Network Engineer, is responsible for all technical aspects of the network including the design, installation, and maintenance of lines, equipment, and applications. In addition, Jeff helps assess and incorporate emerging technologies into UTN to improve telehealth services.

Patricia Willis, RN MS, Outreach Coordinator, works with the UTN customers to implement and support both clinical and educational programs. She is the liaison between the UTN technical staff and the users.

UTN Local Site Coordinators, these people are excellent local resources. They can answer many of your questions and assist you in scheduling a telehealth conference or patient visit in your area.

University of Utah Health Sciences Information Technology Services (ITS) As part of ITS, the Telemedicine Outreach Program relies on other ITS teams to support the Utah Telehealth Network.
