Pediatric Grand Rounds

Primary Children's Grand Rounds


Primary Children's Medical Center broadcasts Pediatric Grand Rounds via the Utah Telehealth Network to interested healthcare providers throughout the surrounding region, every Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.

There are three ways to participate:

Option 1: Videoconference to UTN - Contact UTN Videoconferencing Coordinator

Option 2: Live Webstreaming from either inside IHC's Intranet or else from UTN for those in the public Internet.

Here is how watch UTN's live webstream from the Internet:
1. Open http://codian.utahtelehealth.net/
2. Enter the Recording ID - The ID for each event is created by combining the day, month and year of the event together with a preceding 0 for the year only and begins with a 3. For example: June 16, 2008 would be 361608.
3. Leave the PIN blank
4. Select your preferred video player and bandwidth
5. Click "Stream this Recording"
6. If the video screen remains blank, click the link to download the necessary software to view the stream. This software is downloaded directly from the server and has been verified as safe. If you are unable to install this software, contact your computer support person.
7. Click Run and follow the on-screen directions to install this software. Close Internet Explorer and begin this procedure from the beginning. You need not reboot your machine.

Here is how to watch PCMC's live webstream from inside IHC's intranet:
1. Open mms://mediahost.ihc.com/pcmc
2. Windows Media Player 9 or 10 required.
3. Technical support - Call 801.662.3530 or 801.662.3500 or email Neil.Larson@imail.org

Option 3: Intermountain Healthcare videoconference

1. Enter the conference ID, 73351, at the "Place A Call" screen in your videoconferencing system. Use this same code to connect each week.
2. If you have any questions or problems connecting, please contact Lance Gallegos at 801-442-9848.

Watch Video Archive 2008 Presentations

Target Audience: Hospital staff and community-based pediatricians, family practice physicians, physician assistants, nurses, and any practitioners who provide care for children of any age.

To best meet the needs of the academic/research and clinical faculty and staff, the Grand Rounds Planning Committee schedules lectures that comprise a mix of cutting edge research and practical clinical applications. Clusters of topics are also utilized as the series is planned.


CME Credits
CME Category 1 credit is available for those participating in the live presentations in person or by viewing the live broadcast. A signed roster and an evaluation tool will be available and will need to be faxed or emailed to Primary Children's Medical Center, within 30 minutes after the presentation. FAX: (801) 662-3522
