The Utah Telehealth Network (UTN) expands access to health care services and resources through the innovative use of technology. Patient care, patient education, public health planning, and continuing education for health professionals are all conducted at a distance. Hospitals, clinics, and local health departments connect together via T1 lines and, soon, higher speed connections. One connection into the network links patients and health professionals to multiple resources and other health care providers, wherever they are. Telehealth saves time and travel for patients, their families, and health care providers. Telehealth keeps patients, and health care, in local communities.
