Interactive videoconferencing via the Utah Telehealth Network can be a cost effective way to get together with people at distant sites, especially when compared to the time, expense, and lost productivity associated with travel for the participants.

Videoconference fees are charged for using the UTN bridge and/or UTN videoconferencing equipment. There are three ways to pay:

• Network member fees: network members pay a monthly fee that can include unlimited videoconferencing services (except for out-of-state long distance charges, if any).

• Port*hour fees, either per conference or using discounted pre-paid blocks. For information on specific rates, please refer to UTN Videoconferencing Rates.



• Port*hour = the number of ports used times the number of hours connected. Each port on the UTN bridge can connect 1 site, or 1 bridge from another network. Example: 4 sites connected into the UTN bridge for 3 hours = 12 port*hours.


UTN videoconferencing equipment used in a point-to-point call (which doesn't use the bridge) will also be considered a port for billing purposes. Example: UTN videoconferencing equipment is dialed directly to a non-network site for a one hour conference = 1 port*hour.


• Contracts: Individual agreements can be negotiated for special circumstances.
